Archaeological site.
Details of Site Location: The west side of the Oakdale Golf Course at Jane and Sheppard, and mostly on the hospital property to the west.
Boundary History: The boundaries have not been determined or reported. The site straddles two properties.
Current Use of Property: Golf club and hospital.
Historical Description: Konrad’s 1972/72 survey records this site as a Woodland campsite. It states that a few shards, a beaver incisor, and a few flint chips were found. Landscaping has probably destroyed much of the site, and it is unfortunate that no action was taken as a result of Konrad’s report. This leaves some reduced archaeological potential at the site. At one time, beaver were probably active in Black Creek, which runs parallel to Jane Street on its east side. There are probably other sites in the area of Black Creek.
Relative Importance: Konrad ranked the site 5/5 in importance and 5/5 threatened.
