Details of Site Location: Located at Parklawn Cemetery, Bloor West at the Kingsway.
PDM: Borden # AjGu 9 easting 621450 northing 4833400
Boundary History: The size of this site is undetermined.
Current Use of Property: Cemetery.
Historical Description: First reported in 1950 by Victor Konrad, and confirmed by him in 1971, this site was the location of a village and chipping station, but of undetermined culture and period. Some 15 lithics were found on the surface by a local resident and shown to Konrad, but what is below the surface is not known. The site is very close to the Lower Humber River along which many aboriginal sites have been identified. As this site is on the east side of the Humber, it is associated with the Toronto Carrying Place Trail, which was in use for centuries as a portage route.
Relative Importance: Konrad ranked the site 5/5 in importance and 5/5 threatened.
Planning Implications: The site must be flagged for further investigation by some very skilled archaeologists working with the permission of the cemetery administration and nearby property owners~ After investigation, the site could be plagued.
