Archaeological site.
Details of Site Location: South of Highway 401, Midland Avenue north of Ellesmere, Lot 27, Concession 2.
Historical Description: This was the site of a Mississauga Village known to early European settlers.
Planning Implications: Although this late 18th century Mississauga village is probably all destroyed by development, it should be flagged in case the village extended into now open space. If all the surrounding land is sterile, a plaque should be posted, with the Mississaugans consultation, to commemorate where a group of First Nations settled.
